Spiritual, Nature based and Pagan ceremonies

I have been trained by Dawn Kinsella, a High Priestess of the Goddess Temple at Glastonbury, to carry out spiritual ceremonies, nature based ceremonies and pagan ceremonies, so that you can truly have the ceremony that is right for you or your loved one.

Invoking the four elements of nature, we’ll celebrate your wedding or handfasting or mourn your loved one with a passing over ceremony or funeral.

I offer a free and no obligation twenty minute enquiry call before a first meeting. You can ask me any questions and tell me a bit about what you are looking for and then we can decide if I am the right celebrant for you. My email address is merielwhale@protonmail.com

A HANDFASTING

A simple definition of a handfasting is to make a promise or to seal a contract by joining hands, a symbolic moment of transformation for people who are deeply in love and ready to commit. You can have a full handfasting ceremony or choose some elements to form part of your ceremony, such as hand tying or jumping the besom. A full handfasting ceremony could look like this:

  • We create, open and enter the circle together, using natural items such as leaves and flowers and creating an energetic connection between all present.

  • We invite chosen guests to hold items that represent the four elements of Air, Fire, Water and Earth and to speak about you, your relationship and what love and commitment mean to you or offer readings.

  • We include moments of stillness, quiet and intention, taking time to breathe together.

  • You light your own candle from the celebrant’s sacred flame.

  • We include a water blessing.

  • We ground ourselves on the earth for the hand tying ceremony, with ribbons, colours and fabric that mean something to you – a symbolic moment of willingness, commitment and loving transformation.

  • You jump the besom into your new life together.

  • You offer food and drink – traditionally cake and mead – to your guests, symbolically joining your clans together.

  • We close the circle and move into the celebratory elements of your day.
